Account Setup Guide

Follow the steps below to set up your CinergyMetro.net account management login and initial email address
  1. Open Internet Explorer (or any web browser) and go to http://account.cinergymetronet.com/newaccount. You will be asked for your account number along with a PIN. Carefully enter both pieces of information and click on Submit.


  2. You will then be asked to provide your desired Username and Password. Carefully enter both pieces of information and retype your password in the Confirm Password box to assure the password is set correctly.


  3. A prompt may arise informing you that your desired username is already taken. Modify your username or try something entirely different until you are presented with a prompt informing you the account was successfully created. Once your account has been created, you will need to login with your username and password.



  4. After you have logged in, highlight Email and click on Create Address.


  5. Fill in the form fields however you would like to create your first CinergyMetro.net email address. Again, you may receive a message informing you that your desired email address is already taken. Modify your address until your are informed the desired account was successfully created.


  6. After you have created your first email address, click on the my.cinergymetro.net link at the lower right-hand side of the web page. Once you arrive at the next page, click on the Sign In link on the right side of the page. Enter your email address and password that you previously created and click on the "Sign in" button.

  7. Type the appropriate letters into the box in the Language area to confirm you are an actual user. Carefully read the terms of use and click the I Accept button once you are finished.


  8. You will now be taken back to the my.cinergymetro.net web page with a slightly different email portion that lets you preview the subject lines of recent received emails.


  9. Click on the Inbox link within the Email box to view your full webmail interface.


    Congratulations! You have correctly established an account management login and your first email account with CinergyMetro.net.

  10. (optional) The following steps are only required if you would prefer to use Outlook Express rather than the Google-provided webmail interface.

    Click on the Settings link in the top right corner of the web page.


  11. Select "Enable POP for all mail" and then click on the Save Changes button. You will then need to configure your Outlook Express client to retrieve mail via POP3.
